The DLCT Series Groundwater Iron and Manganese Removal Filters are mainly designed for removing iron and manganese from groundwater in high-iron and high-manganese regions, as well as for the pretreatment of industrial softened water and demineralized water systems.
The equipment operates on the principles of aeration oxidation, manganese sand catalysis, adsorption, and filtration. An aeration device dissolves oxygen from the air into the water, oxidizing dissolved ferrous ions (Fe²⁺) and manganese ions (Mn²⁺) into insoluble ferric hydroxide (Fe(OH)₃) and manganese dioxide (MnO₂). These precipitates are then removed through the catalytic, adsorptive, and filtering actions of natural manganese sand.

Advantage |
Detailed Description |
|
High Iron & Manganese Removal Efficiency |
The "active filter membrane" formed on the surface of manganese sand catalyzes the oxidation of Fe²⁺ and Mn²⁺ into insoluble oxides, which are then trapped. After treatment, iron and manganese levels can be far below national drinking water standards, with removal efficiency exceeding 95%. |
|
Low Operating Cost |
The system operates under normal pressure, with energy consumption of only 0.1–0.3 kW·h per ton of water treated. The filter media is self-regenerating, requiring no frequent replacement under normal conditions, and has a service life of 3–5 years, significantly reducing maintenance costs. |
|
Strong Dirt-Holding Capacity |
The high porosity of the filter media allows simultaneous removal of suspended solids, colloids, sediment, and other impurities. It is resistant to clogging, suitable for high-turbidity, high-iron/manganese raw water, and reduces backwashing frequency. |
|
Wide Compatibility |
Can be used standalone or combined with quartz sand filters, activated carbon filters, and other systems. It adapts to various water sources including groundwater, well water, and industrial circulating water, with customizable equipment sizes based on flow rates. |
|
Eco-Friendly & No Secondary Pollution |
The treatment process relies solely on physical and catalytic reactions, requiring no chemical additives. The filtered water is safe with no residual risks, fully complying with drinking water hygiene standards. |
Municipal & Rural Water Supply Projects
Addresses excess iron and manganese in groundwater and well water as a pretreatment unit for waterworks. Removes iron and manganese ions to improve water taste, prevent pipe and equipment corrosion, and ensure safe drinking water for residents.
Industrial Process Water Treatment
Widely used in pretreatment for process water in food & beverage, brewing, pharmaceutical, electronics, and other industries. Eliminates iron and manganese impurities to prevent product discoloration and flavor degradation, while protecting boilers, heat exchangers, and other equipment from corrosion.
Circulating Water & Swimming Pool Treatment
Applied to air conditioning circulating water and swimming pool systems. Removes iron, manganese, and suspended solids to reduce scale formation and chlorination by-products, improving circulating water quality and extending equipment service life.
Groundwater & Geothermal Engineering
Used in geothermal development and ground-source heat pump systems to remove iron and manganese from groundwater. Prevents scaling and clogging in pipelines and heat exchangers, ensuring stable system operation.
Advanced Wastewater Treatment & Reuse
Serves as a pretreatment unit in advanced treatment of industrial and domestic wastewater. Removes iron, manganese, and suspended solids to reduce the load on subsequent treatment processes, supporting water reuse initiatives.
